From humble beginnings, we’ve quickly expanded to a 40-strong team of professionals across HVAC, commercial gas, drainage, energy centres, and project management, delivering a full suite of services for our clients across residential and commercial properties. We offer industry-leading services in London and across the South East, priding ourselves on our personal service.

Richard Chappell
/ Managing DirectorBefore founding Balance Mechanical in 2015, Richard studied Mechanical Engineering Services. He started his career working for a maintenance company in high-end residential in Central London across areas such as Belgravia and Knightsbridge. After 15 years of working across the sector, Richard decided it was time to incorporate the high levels of service and attention to detail required across a larger spectrum of the industry and launched his own business. He specialises in working on prestigious refurbishments and new-build projects and appreciates the special nuances of each job. “No two projects are the same,” he said, “and that’s why my job always keeps me on my toes.”
Over the past seven years, Richard has built a 40-strong team and takes pride in building a robust and positive group of experts that work coherently. “It’s gratifying to give our clients one less thing to worry about and seeing everyone pulling in the same direction,” he said. Richard loves travelling, meeting new people, and attending live sporting events when he’s not in the office or on-site.
Pano Patakioutis
/ DirectorPano joined the Balance Mechanical team six years ago, having originally started his career in plumbing and gas. He comes from a family of engineers – as soon as he was old enough to carry a spanner, he was out working on projects! Early into his career, he secured a qualification in Domestic Ventilation Systems. Since then, he has worked around the world on commercial gas projects, HVAC jobs, and energy centres; he brings more than two decades of experience to Balance Mechanical.
“I love the challenge of a high-rise building,” Pano said, “and my record to date is 38-storeys. As developers increasingly look to maximise space in markets like London and the South East, I can’t wait to see what challenges lie ahead!” Pano loves being part of an ever-growing and developing team of ambitious people who are constantly striving to give the client a ‘stress-free’ experience. When he’s not at work, Pano is a martial arts expert and loves fitness and baking with his family.
